Restoration Services Overview

When you come to Columbia Classic Cars our staff will take a few minutes to discuss your project to get a good idea of what you wish to accomplish both in the short and long term for your classic or collector vehicle. This interview is important to assure that you will get exactly what you anticipate. When the automobile arrives at the shop our staff will walk around the vehicle with you discussing these needs and making notes and taking photographs if necessary. Once you have decided on the scope of the work to be performed we will ask that you sign a work order authorizing us to begin. Columbia Classic Cars will then make arrangements with you for the regular invoicing of statements as the project proceeds.

Documentation of Restoration and Services

All our work is documented with detailed photographs of each project before, during, and after the process. While this aids our staff greatly in the reassembly phase of any service, it also provides the customer with a complete visual record of what they are getting for their investment. The digital photographs are computer documented and supplied to each customer at the completion of the project on a CD Disk for their records. For a small charge a customer may request video photographing as well.

Repair Work

There are many older cars that were restored once before and now need to be done again. Because we work almost exclusively on older vehicles we are a good choice for your routine repairs. Whether it is a wiring problem, tune-up, brake or exhaust work, we can handle the job for you. In many instances older restorations may need chrome or stainless repairs as well as minor paint touch-up or detailing. Columbia Classic Cars can accommodate these requests. Remember, repair work and routine maintenance, as well as problem diagnosis on antique and classic cars are the reasons we are here. Scheduling the Work Project

Automobile enthusiasts often delay getting necessary work performed because of a fear of losing valuable time on weekends or during good weather to drive their vehicle. Columbia Classic Cars recognizes this and suggests that you call in advance for scheduling. Once your car is scheduled in for repairs we make every effort to work as quickly as possible. Items that require more attention and time, such as re-chroming or paint work will be scheduled appropriately so as to not interfere with your driving pleasure!

Quality of Work

Columbia Classic Cars is always concerned with the quality and detail of the work expected and performed. Consequently, the level of quality and detail of restoration is carefully fitted to the individual customer. Since not every customer is expecting a show winning restoration the project is thoroughly discussed with the owner to make sure results and costs are understood. Every automobile should run and look great; however, details can make the difference between a high class winner and a nice restoration. A “nice” restoration is what many people who enjoy driving their cars want - beautiful and highly dependable. Higher quality restoration work is always available for those who prefer it.
